This workshop meets on Monday, June 20 and 27 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in Wayne, PA.
Fierce Self-Compassion harnesses the power of Mindfulness to develop an approach to oneself characterized by kindness and compassion. Through teaching, practice and discussion, our group will cultivate mindfulness skills that promote self-compassion. No experience is necessary, just an inclination towards curiosity and exploration.
We've all been taught the Golden Rule: "Do unto others as you would do unto yourself." But all too often, we treat ourselves worst of all. Culturally, there is a belief that being hard on oneself is motivating. Scientific research doesn't support this and in fact suggests the opposite. We will work to bring self-compassion into our life as a way of relating to our world.
While the workshop has been designed to integrate both sessions, you are welcome to sign up for individual sessions instead. Full program registrants will receive a copy of Kristin Neff's book, Self Compassion: The Proven Power of Being Kind to Yourself. Additional information will be provided upon check-out.
